A new method for measuring three dimensional shape of objects is proposed.The method projects uniformlight and a grid pattern coded in a pseudo random M-sequence on objects
and determines deformation of the grid pattern on the objects from the images by CCD camera based on the decoding of the M-sequence. The coordinates of the object points are calculated by triangulation. The validity of the method is confirmed by experiments.the advan-tages of the metbod are that it needs only two images obtained by two projections and that the decoding is not influenced by the color and/or the reflectance of objects.
