Introduction

Optics and Precision Engineering, considered to be one of the most important academic journals in China, is issued both in mainland and abroad. The journal is sponsored by Chinese Academy of Sciences, co-sponsored by Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China Instrument and Control Society and Chinese Society of Micro-nano Technology.This journal was issued in 1959 with the name of “Optics Mechanics”, stopped in 1966 and resumed in 1975. It adopted its present name in 1993. This journal is currently semimonthly published with 16K page by Science Press worldwide.
 
 
The first editor-in- chief of Optics and Precision Engineering is Wang Daheng, the most famous scientist in the field of optics in China, followed by Zhang Zuomei, Tang Jiuhua， Chen Xingdan and Cao Jianlin. Presently, the co-editor-in-chief are Xuejun Zhang and Liangcai Cao , who are the president of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics， Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the director of the Institute of Opto-electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, respectively.
 
The purpose of Optics and Precision Engineering is to promote the generation, application and archiving of knowledge in optics and to disseminate it worldwide. Its subject coverage includes modern applied optics, micro/nano technology and fine mechanics, information sciences, etc.
 
Currently, Optics and Precision Engineering has become one of the leading Chinese journals in optics in China, along with an increasing influence and a large circulation nationally. Especially in the field of interdisciplinary among modern applied optics, micro-nano technique and precision engineering, the journal is highly praised by both domestic and foreign experts, including Nobel laureate, Prof. Charles H.Townes.
Over the past decades, Optics and Precision Engineering continued to strengthen competition power by enhancing its quality in management concept, academic position, editorial quality, publication, publicity and utilizing modern information technologies, in order to be geared to international standards as soon as possible.
