This paper describes the features of the image classification by the digital image processing method

the difficult points in adopting this technique in dynamic and real-time enviroments

and measures of overcoming these difficulties.Finally a practical experience which the Author was nvolved in is introduced

in which TMS320 device vas used as the key element of a video processor to classify the image of the flying target in real time satisfactorily.
