This paper introduces a method using hardwares to count up the 2-D spatial distribution of measured targets in a frame of image

and using high speed signal processor TMS32010 to calcul- ate and output the place of the targets. The time of calculating the centre of gravity of the targets within whole field of view is 1.3ms. The position error≤1 pixle. It can eliminate or abate the influence caused by spiced salt noise and dynamic sluggishness. It is suitable for automatically tracking and measuring fast targets with high precision.
