Abstract

: LuLiF

is shown to have a broad gain spectrum

which is attractive for shortpulse applications. Large small-signal gain over 6 dB/cm was observed for 10-nsec probepulses under KrF-excimer laser pumping. In a con focal 4-pass configuration

20-dB gain wasdemonstrated for CW laser light.
