The weight of the primary mirror was reduced by drilling many holes on its back.Thesolid model of this light weight mirror was built by means of CAD
The weight and the lightweight ratio of the mirror was calculated.The FEM of the mirror was constituted.The staticanalysis and dynamic analysis of the mirror was made.The natural frequency of the lightweight mirror was compared with original mirror. The results show that designing of thelight weight primary mirror is satisfied its technic requirements。The dynamic stiffness andspecific stiffness was improved.The light weight ratio is more than 30%
The results ac-quired above has more important sense in the designing of primary mirror.
