This paper disCusses the study of a new type of optic-fiber microdisplacement measuring instrument(GW-Ⅱ ). Here it puts emphasis on an optic-fiber displacement sensor used which is compensated for variations in light-source intensity as well as for loss in the fibers.It is shown that the ratio of the output of a pair of detecting fibers is independent of the light-source intensity and loss in the fiber system. Results that confirm this are presented. It helps improve the precision and stability of the measuring instrument.
