To solve this problem， use of a 19-core photonic crystal fiber （PCF） with low loss dispersion compensation in the C+L band is proposed as multi-core PCFs have flexible and tunable dispersion. The optical properties of the fiber， such as dispersion， inter-core crosstalk （XT）， confinement loss， and bending loss are numerically simulated by the finite element method in combination with coupling mode theory. The results show that the multi-core fiber can significantly suppress XT and confinement loss， while achieving large negative dispersion in the C+L band. The fiber achieves a large negative dispersion of - 9 572 ps/nm/km to - 13 633 ps/nm/km and a low confinement loss of 2.04×10 - 5 dB/km to 8.1×10 - 3 dB/km in the C+L band. At the same time， the XT in the C+L band is between - 88.96 dB/100 km and - 33.33 dB/100 km， and the bend loss value meets the ITU-T recommendations of G.654 for 19-core PCFs with standard fiber sizes. Therefore， this fiber can play an effective role in dispersion compensation in multi-core fiber communication systems based on space division multiplexing technology. 空分复用 光子晶体光纤 多芯光纤 色散补偿 芯间串扰 space-division multiplex photonic crystal fiber multi-core fiber dispersion compensation inter-core crosstalk 1 引 言 1 随着“大数据”、“5G”、“云计算”、“互联网+”、“元宇宙”等新兴技术的提出及其迅速发展，传统单模光纤（Single Mode Fiber， SMF）作为当前光通信的主要媒介，其通信容量已达到非线性香农极限100 Tbit/s，而基于空分复用技术（Space Division Multiplexing， SDM）的多芯光纤（Multi Core Fiber， MCFs）可以突破这一瓶颈，提供更高的传输容量 ［ 1 1 - 2 2 1-2 ］ 。因此，近年来MCFs已成为一个新的研究热点，并取得了丰硕成果。然而，在实际光纤通信系统中，光纤产生的色散会导致光脉冲展宽从而产生误码率。因此，有必要设计一种多芯色散补偿光纤以降低多芯光纤通信系统误码率，并提高最大中继距离。 芯间串扰及色散是多芯色散补偿光纤两个重要性能指标。由于MCFs是通过在有限包层中排布多个纤芯，以此实现空间信道复用，这必将导致严重的芯间串扰（Inter-Core Crosstalk， XT）。MCFs抑制XT的传统方法包括沟槽辅助多芯光纤、空气孔辅助多芯光纤以及异质结构多芯光纤。2013年，日本NTT公司的Taiji Sakamoto等人 ［ 3 3 ］ 提出了一种新型空气孔辅助型六芯光纤，当传输距离为100 km时，该光纤XT保持在 - 30 dB左右；2017年，Xie等人 ［ 4 4 ］ 提出了一种32芯非均匀杆及沟槽辅助多芯光纤，其XT小于 - 30 dB/100 km；2019年，Xie等人 ［ 5 5 ］ 提出了一种具有不同内包层结构的弯曲不敏感异质结构八芯光纤，该光纤可实现低于 - 50 dB/100 km的XT抑制能力。以上几种MCFs设计都是通过增加额外辅助波导结构或使用不同规格纤芯结构来抑制XT，且均难以实现对色散的灵活调控。2020年，Sabahat Shaheen等人 ［ 6 6 ］ 提出了一种基于色散平坦19芯光子晶体光纤的真延时线，该光纤在1 550 nm处传播距离为10 km时，XT为 - 50.1 dB，这说明光子晶体光纤（Photonic Crystal Fiber， PCFs）无需任何辅助波导结构即可有效抑制XT。 PCFs是由破坏了包层周期性排列的缺陷纤芯和沿轴向规则排列的带有气孔的二氧化硅阵列组成，具有不间断单模、高双折射、独特的色散和大数值孔径等突出优点 ［ 7 7 - 8 8 7-8 ］ 。同时由于PCFs结构设计的灵活性和特殊性，在保持无截止单模传输的同时，通过合理调节PCFs各空气孔大小及间距改变缺陷纤芯和包层折射率差，从而调控波导色散大小使总色散保持负值，进而实现在特定工作波段进行有效色散补偿 ［ 9 9 - 10 10 9-10 ］ 。由于PCFs与普通光纤的熔接技术已经成熟 ［ 11 11 - 12 12 11-12 ］ ，2010年，国防科技大学的奚小明等人 ［ 13 13 ］ 提出了一种塌孔熔接技术，实现了0.12 dB的最低熔接损耗。因此，近年来大负色散PCFs已被广泛报道。2009年，侯尚林等 ［ 14 14 ］ 报道了一种新型低非线性宽带色散补偿微结构光纤，该光纤在1 550 nm处色散值可达到 - 3 235.8 ps/nm/km。2013年，Gautam和Prabhakar等 ［ 15 15 ］ 设计了一种具有高掺杂内芯的双芯色散补偿光子晶体光纤，其在1 550 nm处色散值达到了 - 4 200 ps/nm/km。2020年，Sara M.H. Abdelaal等 ［ 16 16 ］ 报道了一种大负色散双芯液晶光子晶体光纤，该光纤最终在1 543 nm处，实现了 - 286 215 ps/nm/km的超高大负色散。然而，基于空分复用技术的色散补偿光纤目前未见报道。因此，有必要将PCFs灵活的色散可调性与其自身优异的XT抑制特性相结合，实现对基于SDM的MCFs各个信道同时进行有效色散补偿。 基于上述分析，本文将PCFs与MCFs相结合提出了一种C+L波段低损耗色散补偿19芯光子晶体光纤，其包层采用纯二氧化硅材料，各个纤芯均由6层空气孔周期性排布构成。基于耦合模理论及功率耦合理论，通过有限元法计算了该光纤各个参数对XT及各种光学性能的影响，优化出最佳结构参数。最终依赖于PCFs结构设计的灵活性与特殊性，该光纤在C+L波段实现 - 9 572~ - 13 633 ps/nm/km大负色散同时，保持了2.04×10 - 5 ~8.1×10 - 3 dB/km的较低限制损耗，且XT值介于 - 88.96~ - 33.33 dB/100 km之间。因此，该光纤的提出对于解决基于SDM的MCFs各个信道色散积累问题，且进一步提高最大中继距离具有深远意义。 2 光纤结构设计 1 本文提出了一种C+L波段低损耗色散补偿19芯光子晶体光纤，横截面如 图1 图1 所示。该光纤由19个具有相同大负色散特性的纤芯组成，分别是core1~core19，其中两相邻纤芯间距为 Λ C ，最外层纤芯距包层距离为OCT，包层半径为Dcl。为减小制备难度，Dcl设为与G.654光纤相同直径125 μm。 该光纤单个纤芯横截面如 图2 图2 （a）所示，由沿纯二氧化硅包层轴向以正六边形周期性排列的六层空气孔组成。由于模式光场主要分布在纤芯附近，离纤芯最近三层的空气孔对PCFs传输特性起主要作用，所以直径分别为 d 1 ， d 2 和 d 3 的内三层空气孔主要用于调控色散。而通过合理优化直径为 d 4 的外三层空气孔大小可以有效抑制XT， Λ h 为空气孔间距。通过Sellmeier方程给出纯二氧化硅包层折射率 n 1 ，表达式为 ［ 所示（彩图见期刊电子版），色散随着波长的增加而减小并且色散斜率保持为负值。当输入光波长为1 550 nm时，色散随 d 1 的增大而减小， d 1 分别取0.89 µm，0.90 µm，0.91 µm和0.92 µm时，色散值分别为 - 7 165 ps/nm/km， - 7 710 ps/nm/km， - 8 333 ps/nm/km和 - 9 047 ps/nm/km。为使模式光场被更好限制在缺陷纤芯内，第一层空气孔直径须有上限以保证其间分布的纯二氧化硅能够支持光纤纤芯，考虑实际制造和模拟结果，选取 d 1 为0.92 µm。 当 d 1 =0.92 µm，其他参数不变时， d 2 对该光纤色散特性的影响如 图4 图4 所示（彩图见期刊电子版），色散也是随着波长的增加而减小并且色散斜率保持为负值。当输入光波长为1 550 nm时，色散随 d 2 的增大而增大， d 2 分别选取0.58 µm，0.6 µm，0.61 µm，0.63 µm，0.64 µm和0.65 µm时，对应色散值分别为 - 10 380 ps/nm/km， - 9 047 ps/nm/km， - 8 350 ps/nm/km， - 7 046 ps/nm/km， - 6 466 ps/nm/km和 - 5 938 ps/nm/km。为了不破坏其优异的色散特性及模式光场，选取 d 2 为0.58 µm。 当 d 1 =0.92 µm， d 2 =0.58 µm，其他参数不变时， d 3 对该光纤色散特性的影响如 图5 图5 所示，色散也是随着波长的增加而减小并且色散斜率保持为负值。当输入光波长为1 550 nm时，色散也是随 d 3 的增大而增大，且色散值分别为 - 10 380 ps/nm/km（ d 3 =0.8 μm）， - 9 618 ps/nm/km（ d 3 =0.82 μm）， - 8 930 ps/nm/km（ d 3 =0.84 µm）， - 8 617 ps/nm/km（ d 3 =0.85 µm）。因此，选取 d 3 为0.8 µm可以获得最优色散值。 当 d 1 =0.92 µm， d 2 =0.58 µm， d 3 =0.8 µm，其他参数不变时， Λ h 对该光纤色散特性影响如 图6 图6 所示（彩图见期刊电子版），色散同样随着波长的增加而减小并且色散斜率保持为负值。当输入光波长为1 550 nm时，色散同样随 Λ h 的增大而增大，且色散值分别为 - 10 380 ps/nm/km（ Λ h =1.1 µm）， - 9 795 ps/nm/km （ Λ h =1.11 µm）和 - 9 137 ps/nm/km（ Λ h =1.12 µm）。由于PCFs结构限制， Λ h 不宜过小以保证其间分布的纯石英能够支持光纤纤芯。当 Λ h < 1.1 µm时，光纤中基模光场将大量耦合进包层，造成模式光场恶化。考虑实际制造及计算结果，选取 Λ h 为1.1 µm是合适的。 为验证该光纤纤芯所处位置对色散的影响，计算了处在包层中不同位置纤芯的色散值。如 图7 图7 所示，结果表明在C+L波段，该光纤中间纤芯、第二层纤芯及第三层纤芯色散值均介于 - 9 572~ - 13 633 ps/nm/km。因此，该光纤在C+L波段内不同空间信道具有同等色散补偿能力。 3.2　XT特性 2 MCFs 通过在有限包层中排布多个纤芯以实现多个空间信道复用，而纤芯数量增加必将导致 <math id="M10"><mi>Λ</mi><msub><mrow><mtext> </mtext></mrow><mrow><mi>C</mi></mrow></msub></math> http://html.publish.founderss.cn/rc-pub/api/common/picture?pictureId=37228259&type= 所示（彩图见期刊电子版）。在传输距离为100 km时，XT分别为 - 88.96 dB/100 km， - 70.13 dB/100 km及 - 33.33 dB/100 km。当传输距离为153 km时，1 530 nm输入光波长下光纤的XT升高到 - 30 dB，但其数值仍小于阈值 - 30 dB/100 km，并且在实际应用中色散补偿光纤长度只需10 km左右。因此，本文所提出光纤在C+L波段均可实现低串扰长距离传输。 3.3　限制损耗及弯曲损耗 2 光纤通信系统最大中继距离主要由光纤的损耗决定，而光纤中的损耗有弯曲损耗、限制损耗及散射损耗等。由于PCFs独特的空气孔结构会导致光在其中传输时不可避免的发生泄露，从而产生限制损耗，其表达式为 ［ 23 23 ］ ： <math display="block" 所示，其限制损耗在C+L波段均满足长距离传输要求，并且在C+L波段限制损耗介于2.04×10 - 5 ~8.1×10 - 3 dB/km之间。MCFs在实际使用过程中需要涂覆层以保持光纤强度、防止光纤微弯损耗、受潮及减少光纤机械损伤，但涂覆层材料折射率大于纯二氧化硅折射率，当OCT过小时，最外层纤芯将产生附加损耗。因此，OCT与弯曲损耗的关系如 图11 图11 所示，为避免突破包层直径限制且满足长距离传输要求，OCT可在11~20 μm之间选取。由于本文所设计低损耗色散补偿19芯光子晶体光纤采用62.5 μm的包层半径，最终OCT取为15.5 μm。 3.4　光纤性能 2 通过上述优化过程，本文所提出光纤的最终性能参数如 表1 表1 所示，该光纤在C+L波段实现大负色散同时，具有低损耗及XT抑制能力。因此，其可对19个空间信道同时进行色散补偿。同时，上述优化过程表明，该光纤色散补偿能力、串扰抑制性能及损耗特性均与光纤纤芯各项结构参数及相邻纤芯距离有关，并且不同纤芯排布方式下光纤抑制串扰能力不同。因此，保持光纤各项结构参数及纤芯排布方式不变，可将该光纤拓展为低损耗色散补偿7芯光子晶体光纤。 Fiber properties 。2002年燕山大学红外光纤与传感研究所的侯蓝田等人 ［ 28 28 ］ 利用堆叠法在中国成功拉制出第一根集成式光子晶体光纤。 图11 图11 为本文所提出光纤的堆叠-拉伸法预制棒部分示意图，其中纤芯由不同直径的空芯圆（毛细玻璃管）构成，包层由不同直径的玻璃棒构成。其中预制棒中空心圆及玻璃棒几何尺寸可根据不同商用拉丝设备的实际要求，通过各种结构参数及包层直径比值确定。最后，利用打孔法 ［ 29 29 ］ 在包层预制棒中按照所设计纤芯排布方式打19个与纤芯预制棒尺寸相匹配的孔，将已成形的19个纤芯预制棒插入包层预制棒孔中，得到光纤整体预制棒，然后通过熔融拉丝工艺可实际制备出该光纤。 5 结 论 1 本文利用PCFs灵活的色散可调性结合空分复用技术，提出了一种C+L波段低损耗色散补偿19芯光子晶体光纤，根据现有拉制技术，该光纤实际制造可采用堆叠-拉伸法。为进行数值模拟，提出了低损耗色散补偿19芯光子晶体光纤等效模型。利用有限元法优化了该光纤具体结构参数，最终在C+L波段该光纤色散值介于 - 9 572~ - 13 633 ps/nm/km之间，限制损耗介于2.04×10 - 5 ~8.1×10 - 3 dB/km之间，并且为探究该光纤在C+L波段的串扰抑制能力，利用模式耦合及功率耦合理论计算出C+L波段XT介于 - 88.96~ - 33.33 dB/100 km之间均低于阈值 - 30 dB/100 km，同时弯曲损耗值满足ITU-T所规定G.654光纤标准值。因此，该光纤相较于普通单芯色散补偿光纤，其可同时实现对19个空间信道进行同等色散补偿，并且保持较低损耗。为减小基于空分复用技术的多芯光纤通信系统色散积累，进一步提高最大中继距离的新型多芯色散补偿光纤选材及应用提供参考。 参考文献 QIAN D Y ， HUANG M F ， IP E ， et al .
