This paper tries to proceed from the purpose of increasing economic benefits of optical systems

and to make a proposal in the thought

method and calculation formulae for making optical tolerance. In the suggested method

the target function is minimum cost

the restraint conditions are the permitted variation of MTF value and manufacturing ability.
