The paper gives a brief comment on the wear mechanisms
wear-resistant materials of powder metallurgy
and transformation harden by laser treatment. To increase the working life of automotive parts of powder metallurgy
the authors have made 13 kinds of pouder metallurgy materials transformation harden by lasers
and found out theoptimum parameters of laser treatinent by design of experiments.Micrographes have shown that transformation of lamellar pearlite into lath martensites takes place on the laser-treated surfaces. The mierohardness on the treated surface is increased 2—5 times more than that on original surface. The wear propcrtics
which are evaluated by weight analysis
have been improvcd remarkably. The models based on the results of experiments indicate that the wear mechanisms on the laser treated surfaces are much different that on original surface.
