The electronic control and display systems used in the optical processor of SAR will mainly be discussed in this paper. The film tension control system which is a position control system with automatic gain control(AGC)can control the film tension variation under 10g. The film velocity control system consists of two set of synchronous phase-lock velocity control systems driven by a same pulse generator in order to ensure the track error under 0.5% between the data film transporter and the image film transporter. Using linear CCD and image frame storage makes the optical processor have capability of high speed image display
Application of acoustic-optical modulator(AOM)can make the output intensity of laser beam be stable under 2%. In addition
there is electromechanically focussing capability in the processor. Decoding of additional information on SAR data film
the useful information can be obtained and recorded on image film.
