In this paper some structural information of rare earth oxide containrng glasses obtarned on the base of measurement of their Raman spectra is presented.On the basis of calculalion the Raman spectra of BSO-YO

and BaO-LaO

glasses can be divided into four individual bands in the high frequency region(800-1200cm
-1
).The variation of peak intensity of the band has verified that the quantitates of ≡SiO
=SiO
2
and SiO
4
units in the structure altere with the change of composition.
