ZHANG Yun-kun. Structure and properties of electroless nickel-boron alloy[J]. Editorial Office of Optics and Precision Engineering, 2000,(5): 453-457DOI:
Heat treatment is capable of improving the hardness and wear-resistance of nickel-boron alloy considerably. The as-plated Ni-B alloy coating is noncrystalline.During heat treatment
its structure begins converting to crystalline and nickle crystal is precipitated at 250℃.Ni
3
B is precipitated at 300℃.Electroless Ni-B alloy coating has significant hardness
superior wear-resistance and excellent electrical properties. It can be used instead of gold or silver in some electrical components.Studies on the technology
structure and properties of electroless Ni-B coatings have been reported in domestic and foreign journals
but some aspects need additional study. This paper discusses the structure and properties of electroless nickel-boron alloy coatings
using sodium borohydride as reducing agent and ASE as stabilizer on brass. The effect of heat treatment temperature on structure and hardness are studied especially.
