Three-dimensional (3D) photonic crystals in the visible spectral region were fabricated by an auto-cloning technique.The optical properties of the crystals were studied by measuring the reflection spectra
and the Photonic Bandgap (PBG) was calculated using a plane-wave-expansion method. The experimental results coincide well with the theory. A two-step deposition method was used to insert rhodamine 590 into the photonic crystal
the result shows that the photoluminescence spectra is strongly modified by the photonic crystal.
