A new type of CCD laser displacement sensor for high-speed measurement is introduced
which can be used to measure the displacement of moving object or high-speed vibration by the mode of High-speed and real-time. The sensor system is composed of optical system
linear CCD with 7500 image elements
high-speed analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that converts at sampling rates up to 40 mega samples per second (MSPS)
high-speed First-In
First-Out (FIFO) memories with clocked read and write controls
comparator selecting circuit and digital signal processor(DSP). Because the self-adapting control method is adopted
the light intensity of laser is modulated by setting external resistors to adjust separately the oscillation frequency and output current of laser
so that make suitable to various specific use or situation. Additionally
storage data from high-speed A/D converter and read data from high-speed FIFO can be controlled by the comparator selecting circuit that is specially designed
then only useful signal of image elements outputted by CCD is memorized by FIFO. Therefore
the burden of DSP is alleviated
and both data acquisition and process for CCD sensor signal can be carried out synchronously. This system can be used in the field of high-speed measurement of displacement. The results of experiment show that the velocity of data acquisition can reach to 40M and the minimum sampling interval is 0.1ms.
