In this paper the selection of the type and the structure parameters of a pantograph locomotion mechanism for a six-legged walking robot is discussed in detail. We give a method to design the transmission system and the mechanical structure. A design basis for developing and making the practical locomotion mechanism of a sixlegged walking robot is provided.
