this paper introduces briefly methods such as STP
STRP
GTP and OEST. The trend of development of EST methods is analyzed from the aspect of data fusion and information abstraction. A N-layer EST model is presented. Based on the analysis of the error introduced into these EST methods
this paper presents a new time domain combination method for straightness measurement. it employs STP
STRP and GTP. STRP is employed to correct the error introduced in STP by the neglect of yaw angle. GTP is used to supply the relative height of all STP results. This method can not only improve measurement accuracy but also get information of waveness. It fits the need of precision and ultra precision straightness measurement.
