Density is one of the important physical parameters of materials. The paper introduces research work concerned with a novel sensor for measuring liquid density. Different from the traditional instruments used today
such as vibrating tubes
ultrasonic based sensors
the new one based on Lamb wave possesses many advantages
such as high sensitivity
fast response
little sample required
etc. This paper presents a basic principle of the sensor and the phase shift measuring method used in this project. The measuring system and satisfactory experiment results are shown.
