Abstract:We have developed zoom lens design expert system,intending to operate with little user intervention.The paper puts the emphasis on the knowledge representation,system architecture,reasoning and control strategy of the system MEX-1.
Abstract:Some database application demands to deal with different types of data,including unformatted numbers,texts as well as graphs, which are difficult to be organized by a normal DBMS whereas easy to be managed by a documental system.Based on this application peculiarity,and taking COLDB as an example,the paper puts forw-ard a feasible method to establish a science and engineering database with different types of data by using a hybrid management system a DBMS combined with a documental system.
Abstract:The paper introduces the design and realization of COLDB,Chin-ese Optical Lens Data Base,which is composed of more than 2000 pieces of varied kinds of optical lenses including lens construction data,image quality data,abstract and graphs.It also describes the major features of COLDB,e.g..the hybrid database system(different data and mixed tyoe management system)as well as the conneotion with optical CAD software.
Abstract:The optical disk-memory has very fine grooves.The widely applied Fraunhofer theory fails to describe the diffraction since large diffraction angle should be taken into account and the Fresnel coefficients at the grooves are no longer constant.Under the circumstances, a method has been developed to study this diffraction problem;furt-hermore,some essential factors,such as the influence of the groove form,the contribution of the multiple reflection at the substrate surfaces to the diffraction patterns,particularly when the substrate is not perfectly parallel,and so on,have been discussed.Finally a diffraction technique for testing groove parameters has been established.
Abstract:This paper represents a method of measuring aspheric surfaces with CGH,using ZYGO interference system.Testing a parabolic surface is used as an example in the paper.It proves that it is effe-ctive that ZYGO interferometer is used together with computer hol-ography for measuring of aspheric surfaces.
Abstract:This report describes the results of a number of measurements and comparisons of the Veiling Glare Characteristics(VGC)for a variety of typical microscope objectives home and abroad,and the assessment method using both the Veiling Glare Index VGI and Characterized VGI(NA0)in this survey.Our investigation shows that,in general,from the point of view of VGC,all the microsope objectives with good performance have both very small VGI and VGI(NAc)which almost do not very along with the sizes of the limiting aperture of the black target.The results suggests that in order to improve the VGC of domestic microscope objectives,atten-tions must be paid to the optical design to reduce the VG,and to use a better process for darkening the barrels etc.
Abstract:This report represents authors's suggestions on describing the Veiling Glare(VG)characteristic of the microscope objectives by Veiling Glare Index(VGI)and Charaterized Veiling Glare Index(VGI(NAc),which have been proposed on the base of the measurements of a large number of various microscope objectives by using the instrument for testing the VGI of microobjectives developed in the Institute.Furthermore,the report introduces our experiments and discussions about the influence of those variable parameters in the testing instrument,such as the limiting aperture of the black object target,defocus and etc.,on the testing results.At last this paper gives our suggestions for the standardization of the measurement and assessment of the VG characteristics of microscope objectives.
Abstract:The condition for yielding resonance and anti-resonance and the admittance characteristics of MDOF free torsional vibration system are discussed in this paper.Using control theory and basic mechanics method,on the point of view of Electro-Mechanics integration,we have given a mathematical model of driving unit and load construction for an E-O theodolite.The results of a series computations with the model and practical experiments suggested this method can solve many actual engineering problems.

Abstract:STM has been employed to make investigation of laser-induced damage on Cu mirrors and Au-coated mirrors(Cu substrate).STM observation of the irradiated surfaces indicates that high power CO2 laser pulses transform both the smooth Cumirror surfaces and the Au-coated mirror surfaces into a collection of tightly packed small pits,each having different form including approximate reckan-gle-shaped pits,round-shaped pits and other irregular shape pits.These pits approximately range from 20Å to 400Å wide.Especially,we utilized the STM to detect the subtle damage pits induced bypulse-repetition frequency(PRF)laser beam on Cu mirrors and Au-coated mirrors.In addition we describe the physical configuration of the laser damage test system,laser and sample dia gnostics and general testing procedures.We discuss the accumulation of PRF laser-induced structure damage.
Abstract:Based on the theory study and test verification,this paper prese-nts the dynamic model and transfer function of STUVC,and deals with its cutting stability.It is proved by the proposed theory that STUVC is able to reduce the chatter effectively and the reducing effect is only determind by the cutting coefficient ψu.These conclusions are verified by the test results.

Abstract:In this paper the computer simulation of binary joint transform correlation is presented and the effects of changes in scale and in plane rotation are discussed.Theoretic analysis shows that the tolerance of change in plane roration can be increased if a small change in scale is introuced and the computer demonstrations are given.

Abstract:Some works have been done on composed TiO2 and ZnS thin films made from mixed materials.In the case of composed TiO2 thin films, it is found that the metallic oxides with three or five valances could enhance the textural stability of TiO2 thin film.By studying on composed ZnS thin film,we improved its nonlinear thermal refractivity.
Abstract:Free-space optical interconnections are important both in massive digital optical computing and in communication systems.The optical butterfly interconnection has many advantages over other intercon-nections in implementing various basic logic functions such as addition,subtraction,multiplication.This paper starts with the convent-ional Karnaugh maps and Boolean algebra to implement a parallel n-bit ripple carry full adder by the use of multilayer butterfly interconnection networks.Then we describe in detail the design and architecture of the full adder and provide accurate interconnection networks and the structures or patterns of key devices such as the masks to implement AND and OR operations in this calculation. Finally,we discuss development of the interconnection in implementing logic operations.
Abstract:In this paper,we discuss anb compare three formulas for calculating and studing the bistable characteristics of bistable optical devices(BODs).Then we confirm the necessarity to study optical bistabilities of BODs using accuracy matrix formulas based on film optical principles. We calculate some important relationships of BODs,and introduce the dispersive relation of nonlinear material(ZnSe)which makes our method more self-consistent.
Abstract:The quantum-confined CdSxSe1-x microcrystallite-doped glasses with 10-45Å size particles are successfully prepared.Transmission electron microscopy has been used to observe the microcrystallite structure and morphology characteristics in glasses.The third-order nonlinear susceptibility and plasma recombination time of the glass is measured by Four-wave mixing technique.The results showed x(3)= 1×10-8esu,τ=35psec.The dependence of photogenerated carrier 3-dimensional quantum-confined effect,susband structrue,microcrysta-llite size and band gap energy in semiconductor-doped glass are stud-ied.We analyze thoertically the dependence of microcrystallite size, volume occupied ratio and third-order nonlinear susceptibility x(3).
Abstract:The optical multilayer elements,applied in X-ray technique,esp-ecially soft X-ray,((1—30)nm)which have been collected massive int-eresting,have got many important developments in recent decade. In this paper,some things about X-ray multilayer elements,such as the characteristics,manufacturing and measuring methods,their applied field and the investgation status of domestic progress,are given briefly,based on the author's experience.
Abstract:The technique of soft X-ray ion chamber includes the measure-ment of the ion current as a function of rare gas pressure in the ion chamber.The true photoionization current,and hence absolute photon flux,is obtained by extrapolating ion current to zero gas pressure. This paper describes measurement of the absolute photon flux at He Ⅱ25.6nm and CKα4.47nm.

Abstract:This paper describes a computer-aid performance evaluation system for testing and checking the on-board data compression sys-tem used in High-Resolution Imaging Spectrometer(HIRIS).The earth resources spectra from the NASA earth resources spectral information system are taken for simulative spectra of ground objects and these spectra are sampled and quantized according to the conditions and parameters of HIRIS.Then the simulative spectral data are put in a GIFOV spectral data generator through a computer interface.In testing the spectral data stored in the generator are sent to the data co-mpression system at the same rate of the read out clock of subdete-ctors in HIRIS.The data compression system compresses the input data in real-time under the contral of the clock of the input data. After compressing,the compssion results are returned to computer through a bidirection interface,and compared with the original ones. Finally computer gives out testing results.This kind of test system can exactly simulate the original data obtained by HIRIS in space, and objectively evaluate the data compression system.
Abstract:A new coding methed—Difference Base-bit plus Overflow-bit Codi-ng(DBOC)is proposed Compard with the Huffman coding,this method does not require the statistical properties of coded data, and it can be realized in real-time.Experiments show that the coding efficiency can reach over 90%.With this coding method an excellent result has been obtained in an on-board data compression system for imaging spectrometer.

Abstract:In this paper the design and manufacture of ophthalmic multilayer broadband antireflection coatings with same residual reflective colors on the substrates for different refractive indices have been investigated.Someone need to dispense spectacles in which the two lenses are different optical materials with different refractive indices(e.g.n=1.75,n=1.52),and the residual reflective colors of the two lenses must remain the same.We designed triplelayer anti-reflection coatings on the substrates which have different refractive indices. The residual reflective colors of these coatings have the same color position in the CIE color chart and have almost the same average reflective brightness.Also,we have found that the quartz crystal thickness monitor is a good method for preparing the AR coatings.
