Abstract:Optics played very important roles in physics in the past, and recently applications of optics or engineering optics have developed extensively because of an important change of circumstances around optics, i. e. advent of lasers, development of electronics and computers. This paper reviews recent trends of engineering optics by studying some achievements in engineering optics.
Abstract:Extremely smooth surfaces in high precision have been demanded with developing the science and technology on optics in shorter wavelength. The ultra-presision machining processes such as cutting, grinding and polishing have been mentioned as the process which can make smooth surfaces of subnanometer rms level in surface roughness for X-ray/EUV optics. A method of making replicated aspherical X-ray mirrors for a telescope is also described.
Abstract:This paper describes our design considerations for the Soft X-ray Lithograph Beamline constructed for Synchrotron Radiation Lab of BEPC by our Institute during the period of Seventh 5-year plan. The key technical problems in are solved the physical designs of the beamline, scanning and adjusting mechanism of the mirror, laser-simulating source, vacuum system, electronics and microcomputer control system. In addition, it is presented that experimemtal results of pressure-resisting intensity in accord with theory calculation, for the ultra-thin Berylium window that is one of the key diveces in the beamline.
Abstract:A high performance solar/atmosphere UV spectroradiometer with spectral band 120nm-500nm and spectral resolution 0. 08 nm has been developed in this Institute. It consists of standard sources integrated sphere, double grating monochromator, detectors, and electronics-microcomputer system. The solar U V atmosphere U V spectral radiation at different atmosphere condition and mass were measured during 1992 in Changchun. The measurement results show that the stability of the spectroradiometer responsivity is better than 1%/year, and the uncertainty for the solar/atmosphere UV spectral irradiance measurement is less than 3-5%0

Abstract:This paper describes design considerations for and the main performances of the tracking servo system with computer guiding and video and manual tracking modes, developed for the 260#A cinetneodolite with laser and video, represents the results tested in both lab. and the field. Practical application shows that the design method given in the paper is correct and useful.
Abstract:Near Infrared Reflectance (NIR) analysis is a widely used method for the rapid analysis of grains, oilseeds, and feeds. The NIR technololgy relates the intensity of the diffuse reflectance as specific wavelengths from the surface of a sample to the composition of that sample. Various components of a given product have specific NIR absorption bands which will affect the reflectance of the sample as the concentration of each constituent changes. The reflectance at multiple wavelengths is recorded so that the concentration of several constituents can be determined with only one instrument reading to the sample. The analyzer uses advanced optics, electronics and computing techniques-all of which provide rapid sample analysis with high accuracy at an economical price. The product and constituent storage capacity is 4 (products) ? 4 (constituents) .

Abstract:It is necessary to have high reliability for high speed gears in rocket engine. By special manufacturing technologies gears must be maken with high strength and toughness, no latent defects, low residual stresses issued from machining procedure, good surface quality, high machining precision on both size and shape etc.The precision grinding of teeth is the most important process in manufacturing gears for turbine pump. For teeth grinding the technology base, allowance, parameters and preventing teeth surface from burning are analyzed and optimum conditions are given in this paper.

Abstract:The ultrasonic vibration abrasive tape polishing is a compound machining method, based on the open-loop abrasive tape polishing add to the ultrasonic vibration. The paper describes the operation mode, basic principle and system design, testing and analyses of the vibration state, compared with the abrasive tape polishing in roughness and efficiency.
Abstract:As well known, the dynamic stiffness of the slideway-bed of a laser interferometric length measurement system will effect on its measurement accuracy severely. However so far, it is not easy to estimate the degree of its effects in advance, or to give certain conpensation just due to the lack of some proper methods to test. In this paper, we introdued a simple but very effective method of using two laser interferometers by which we tested the 2-D dynamic stiffness of the three-layer type of slideway-bed of a laser interferometric length measurement system. The principle of that method and the experimental arrangements are described, and the results and comments are discussed.
Abstract:Two wave coupling is an important method to investigate the characteristics and qualities of photorefractive crystal. This paper represents our results, measured, based on the principle of energy transfer in two wave coupling which is included in the theory of photorefractive effect, for the relationship between the gain coefficient of two wave coupling F and the crossing angle of the beam 29, and also r as a function of beam ratio p. The results indicate that F of the Cu:KNSBN crystal is big. At last, high frequency temporal modulation characteristics of this crystal bulk and the function of diffraction efficiency as the crossing angle of the beam 29 and the frequency of modulation f are described respectively.

Abstract:A method for computing the line profiles of spectral images formed by concave gratings and for computing the stray light distributions caused by three kinds of imperfections of the concave gratings. This method takes account of the diffraction efficiency of the concave gratings and the effects of diffraction and scattering caused by concave gratings imperfect ions, while calculating the line intensities from spot diagram. An example is given for a Seya-Namioka monochromator.
